Verona, Italy – November 07, 2026 – Cédric Angot (FRA) came within 38 hundredths of a second of claiming a third consecutive victory in Montenmedio’s feature class. Belgium’s Axel Vandoorne (BEL), riding Gaudi de Hus, won Saturday’s €33,720 Karlswood Small Grand Prix CSI 4*, counting towards the Longines Rankings, ahead of the Frenchman and Sira Martínez (ESP), third with Pipper des Vergers Z.

After winning with Harmony de Grandry on Thursday and with Gandor du Fief on Friday, Angot again partnered the latter in a 1.45m competition held under Table A against the clock with a jump-off in Arena 3 – Don Antonio. Eleven combinations completed the initial course of 13 fences and 16 jumping efforts without faults, and ten contested the jump-off.

Vandoorne made the difference with Gaudi de Hus, a ten-year-old Selle Français gelding by Toulon out of a Diamant de Semilly mare. His clear round in 37.64 seconds beat Angot’s 38.02 and secured victory on the tour’s penultimate day.

Sira Martínez Shines again with Pipper des Vergers Z

Sira Martínez (ESP) achieved the best Spanish result, completing a double clear with Pipper des Vergers Z and stopping the jump-off clock at 38.94 seconds. The eleven-year-old mare, with whom she finished eleventh in last Sunday’s Andalucía Grand Prix, carried her to third place on the podium this time.
