Alejandro Leonardo Winkler Claims First Career Grand Prix Victory on Home Soil at Otomí

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – October 31, 2026 – Mexico’s Alejandro Leonardo Winkler (MEX) celebrated a career milestone on Saturday, claiming his first-ever Grand Prix victory aboard Flagship de Hus in the $85,000 GNP Seguros Grand Prix CSI 3* – 1.50m at the GNP Seguros Otomí Grand Prix.

The victory was particularly meaningful for Winkler, who returned to compete in Mexico after a five-year absence and secured his breakthrough Grand Prix triumph in front of a home crowd. With Olaf Petersen Jr. (GER) responsible for the 1.50m course, a field of 35 combinations contested the Grand Prix, with nine earning their place in the jump-off and setting the stage for an exciting battle against the clock.

Winkler had an impressive performance in the opening round, qualifying for the jump-off with both Flagship de Hus and D Monator Z. Although his second mount finished with 15 penalty-points in the decisive round, Flagship de Hus delivered the performance that mattered most.
