Brash & Bold! Scott Brash Blazes to the Top in the €200,000 Grand Prix of Gijón CSI 4*

Gijón, Spain – August 30, 2026 – Scott Brash (GBR) was one of the most expected riders at this year’s event: the best ranked on the LR, number four in the world, and one of the year’s most competitive athletes. On the top of it, he had come to Gijón with some of his best horses. For the main class, he had saved his mare Hello Follie, with whom the British rider forms a winning combination.

And that is exactly how it played out this afternoon: fast, clean, and decisive. He was the second-fastest in the first round and the quickest in the second and decisive one to claim victory in the €200,000 Grand Prix of Gijón CSI 4*.

And Yuri Mansur (BRA) had really pushed the pace. The Brazilian had completed the jump-off in 53.77 seconds and, after his victory in yesterday’s speed class, he had the Gijón crowd excited.

But Brash and Hello Follie were the last to enter the arena, stopping the clock 47 hundredths of a second faster than him: at 50.30 seconds. The next fastest rider, Britain’s Millie Allen (GBR) with Quickly D vh Ijzerenlindehof, took 56.50 seconds to complete the course.

“It’s amazing to win here, with this crowd,” the rider remarked upon receiving the Gijón Grand Prix trophy on the podium, facing a packed West Stand. Indeed, surrounding the podium from which he addressed the Las Mestas crowd, 12,944 fans were applauding his victory.
