North Salem, United States – May 15, 2026 – Thirty-five entries representing six countries came forward for the $65,000 J.P. Morgan Private Bank Welcome Stake of North Salem on Friday, which saw a technical 16-effort, 1.50m course designed by Alan Wade (IRL). After 13 horse-and-rider combinations answered the questions correctly to advance to the jump-off, Ireland’s Jordan Coyle (IRL) and For Gold blazed to the top of the leaderboard, tripping the timers on a double-clear score of 35.87 seconds for the win.
Coyle is no stranger to the Old Salem Farm winner’s circle, having won the 2025 Old Salem Farm Grand Prix among other events over the years. On Friday, he added the $65,000 J.P. Morgan Private Bank Welcome Stake to his résumé, slicing his way around the course for a 35.87-second time aboard Falkirk Farm’s 15-year-old Holsteiner gelding.

Americans Nicholas Dello Joio (USA) and McKayla Langmeier (USA) rounded out the podium alongside Coyle. Dello Joio was just a tenth of a second behind Coyle for second place, riding The Berry Group’s 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding Cornet’s Cambridge through the finish line in 35.97 seconds.

As the last rider to return to the ring, Langmeier brought things down to the wire, taking third in 36.18 seconds with Riesling van de Gaathoeve, Rafferty Farm’s 9-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion.
“The horse was amazing,” Coyle said. “We came here with this class in mind for him. He’s always a very fast horse in the jump-off, so we kind of just do our own thing and leave it up to everyone else. I was lucky today; everybody was pretty close there.
“Tomorrow, For Gold jumps again,” he continued. “Then I’ll jump Ariso in the Grand Prix on Sunday. Ariso was amazing last week and could’ve easily won the Welcome Stake and the Grand Prix if I’d have ridden him a little better. Now, I’m just going to try and not let him down on Sunday.”
