
Shanghai, China — May 03, 2026 — Niamh McEvoy (IRL) made the trip to China worthwhile, closing her participation in the Longines Global Champions Tour of Shanghai CSI 5* with a win. Teaming up with Julius, had a curtain call victory in the €28,300 LGCT Speed Challenge CSI 5* last Sunday.

The 1.45m class was contested by 28 combinations but the young Irish rider and the 12-year-old bay Dutch Warmblood stallion (My Lord Carthago HN x Mermus R) were supreme, leaving all the poles up while blazing through the course before tripping the timers in 63.87 seconds.

Sophie Hinners (GER) put on a valiant effort aboard Iron Dames Kaleni Jo but had to settle for second place despite their foot-perfect round in 64.20 seconds.

Winners of the €28,200 Two-Phase Special CSI 5* two days before, Koen Vereecke (BEL) and Oilily de Muze had another solid outing, completing the top three after a clean run in 64.88 seconds.
