Chard, England – April 26, 2026 – A familiar face and a legend of the noble sport could not be denied victory on Sunday at Chard Equestrian. One of the all-time greats, John Whitaker (GBR) delivered when it mattered the most, conquering victory in the €29,115 Chedington Estate Grand Prix CSI 2*.

Teaming up with the Equine America Unick du Francport, a 2008 bay Selle Français gelding (Zandor x Helios de La Cour II), Whitaker secured first place in the tiebreker, doing so after an impecable foot-perfect jump-off round in 43.15 seconds, the only double clear of the 1.45 contest.

Gemma Stevens (GBR) and Warrior Special were faster but their time of 40.36 seconds came at the expense of one rail down, thus settling for second place.

Katie Speller (GBR) and Z7 Pink Panther were just one-hundredth of a second slower than the latter two, rounding out the top three.
