Harry Houdini! Charles Works His Magic to Win the €165,000 Hermès Sellier Prize CSI 5*

Doha, Qatar – February 12, 2026 – It was a great sporting day for H.H. The Amir’s Sword 2026 at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab. Day 2 delivered a high-quality five-star evening, led by the €165,000 Hermès Sellier Prize CSI 5* – 1.55m, where Harry Charles (GBR) and Casquo Blue secured the top spot with the fastest clean performance in the tiebreaker.

Harry Charles (GBR) & Casquo Blue

Thirty-six combinations lined up in the first round of the 1.55m challenge but only nine of them took part in the decisive round. In the end, it was Charles who climbed to the top of the podium after his second stellar performance aboard the 2010 bay Oldenburg gelding (Chacco-Blue x Carthago Z), completing the course in 37.74 seconds.

Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) & Esteban de Hus

Another consistent name amongst the top three the past four weeks at the venue, Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) “rode his good momentum” on Esteban de Hus. The duo also delivered two fault-free rounds, the second one in just three-hundredths of a second behind the winning mark, earning reserve honors in 37.77 seconds.

Pieter Devos (BEL) & Primo DV

Pieter Devos (BEL) and Primo DV turned on turbo mode in the jump-off. The duo did manage to register the fastest time but their mark of 37.04 seconds came at the expense of one pole down, still more than good enough for third place.
