Wellington, United States โ January 10, 2026 โ Historically, Canada has been one of the winningest nations at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) and it was no different on Saturday at Wellington International. Serving as the appetizer on Super Saturday, building the climax for the Grand Prix, the $30,000 CPKC National Grand Prix was contested by 28 combinations. In the end, it was a duel between two of Canada’s top stars with Erynn Ballard (CAN) and Coconet conquering the jackpot.

Six combinations participated in the tiebreaker but Ballard blazed aboard the 12-year-old grey Oldenburg mare (Colman x Cornet’s Stern) leaving the other participants in the dust by clearing all the fences and completing the final course in 36.922 seconds.

It was a one-two for Canada as Mario Deslauriers (CAN) also registered a clean scorecard Inside of My Heart, securing silver honors in 38.830 seconds.

Juan Manuel Gallego (ESP) led Lloyd towards two impecable performances too, the final one in 40.770 seconds for bronze honors.
