A Big Win by Liechtenstein’s Jennifer Hockstaedter in the EGO 7 Speed Challege CSI 5*-W

Verona, Italy – November 08, 2025 – An extraordinary turn of speed from the 13-year-old Belgian-bred gelding Moeboetoe v/d Roshoeve proved the winning formula for Liechtenstein’s Jennifer Hockstaedter (LIE) in this afternoon’s EGO 7 Speed Challenge CSI 5*-W at Jumping Verona 2025.

“I had my plan and he is such a fast horse that I knew I could easily go faster and just try to do one less stride. He was just completely with me today, he was just jumping amazing and my plan went just as I wanted so I’m very, very happy!”, said the 22-year-old rider.

The win was all the more satisfying for the fact that she beat her trainer, French star Simon Delestre (FRA), who set the target-time at 63.70 seconds with the electrifying Cayman Jolly Jumper when eighteenth to go of the 42 starters.

Hochstaedter blew that away however when, starting in the number 30 spot, she scorched around to stop the clock almost three seconds faster in 60.90.

Top guns

Nothing was assured however because there were still plenty of top guns to follow, and Switzerland’s Jane Richard (SUI) pinned Delestre back when galloping through the timers with Aeqkuitus vh Bergerhof Z in 63.16 to hold runner-up spot until Matthew Sampson (GBR) set off with his opening class winner Latte Macchiato who looked really threatening all the way.

The British pair were not quite quick enough however, stopping the clock on 61.93 for second place ahead of Richard. So Delestre had to settle for fourth ahead of Belgium’s Olivier Philippaerts (BEL) and H&M Qualithina van’t Ruytershof in fifth (63.85) while Italy’s Giulia Martinengo Marquet (ITA) and Coynor slotted into sixth (64.60.

Asked about overtaking her trainer, Delestre, she laughed and said “yes I did and I was so happy! He also helped me in a way because I watched his round and we had our plan and he helped me to the end. I didn’t want to go crazy or do anything stupid so I just tried to turn short and it was unbelievable!”, she added.

Bigger Wins

This is one of the bigger wins of her career to date. “It’s a dream right now, my horses are in such good shape, it took some time for me to understand them but I feel like today it’s going in the right direction!”, she pointed out.

She aquired both the 13-year-old Moeboetoe van da Roshoeve and her other top ride, the 15-year-old Winnetou de la Hamente Z, from Sweden’s Evelina Tovek a year ago.

Talking about Winnetou she said, “he’s a really special horse, really sensitive, it doesn’t look like it because he’s like a big pony but he’s very, very sensitive and it took me some time to understand him but he wants to give everything for me and now it feels like we just have to keep going and I’m waiting for what’s coming next!”

What’s coming next is a ride with her longtime partner Golden Lady in the Crivelli Prize this evening, and with Winnetou in tomorrow’s big event, the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup qualifier which looks set to be a cracker.
