Another Saudi Victory! Another Win for Alsharbatly & Alamo on the Morocco Royal Tour

El Jadida, Morocco โ€“ October 04, 2025 โ€“ Show jumping in an indoor arena can offer a truly captivating spectacle, especially when the dimensions of the arena are ideal, as in El Jadida (70 ร— 45 m), and when the course designer is someone like Belgiumโ€™s Louis Konickx (BEL), who masters the balance between fluidity and technical challenge. The result was a day of sport that delighted a young, enthusiastic, and remarkably attentive audience, from the early CSI1* classes through to the main competition of the day, the OCP Prize, brilliantly won by Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) and his superstar partner, Alamo.

The Saudi Momentum Continues

The Morocco Royal Tour seems to bring out the very best in the Saudi riders. After their back-to-back triumph in both the Grand Prix and the Nations Cup last week in Rabat, the โ€œgreen jacketsโ€ struck again in El Jadida.

This time, Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) added another victory to his impressive record, ahead of teammate Ramzy Al Duhami with H-Secret by Boris. โ€œItโ€™s an incredible feeling,โ€ said Alsharbatly, eager to express his gratitude. โ€œFirst of all, I want to thank everyone here: especially His Majesty the King of Morocco, the Moroccan Federation, the organisers, and the sponsors who make this event possible. For us, Morocco truly feels like a second home. The people are warm, welcoming, and very friendly.

The competition is world-class: the organisation, the officials, the communication, everything is perfect. Iโ€™m very proud to see such an event in an Arab country. Itโ€™s an honour for us, and I dedicate this victory to our King Salman bin Abdulaziz, to our Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to Prince Abdullah bin Fahd, President of our Federation, and to Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Faisal, our Minister of Sport.โ€

But the Saudi rider was especially keen to pay tribute to his outstandin horse: โ€œHonestly, Iโ€™m happier for Alamo than for myself. Thatโ€™s my baby! Heโ€™s 17 years old now, nearly 18, but he acts like heโ€™s five! I bought him four years ago from my friend Sergio Moya, and since then heโ€™s become a true star. You can see how fit he is: he moves incredibly well. God bless him, and I hope he keeps going for a long time. When he retires, heโ€™ll live with me in Saudi Arabia.โ€
