Sport & Breeding Unite at Lanaken for the 30th Anniversary of the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championships for Young Horses

Lanaken, Belgium – September 24, 2025 – From 24 to 28 September 2025, Domein Zangersheide will once again be the stage for the world’s best young showjumpers as the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championships for Young Horses celebrates its 30th anniversary edition. Over five thrilling days, the arenas in Lanaken will welcome a line-up of the best five-, six- and seven-year-old horses in the world to compete for the 2025 World Championship titles.

The entry list reflects the significance of the occasion, bringing together some of the sport’s biggest names. Among those heading to Lanaken are Daniel Deusser (GER), Kendra Claricia Brinkop (GER), Denis Lynch (IRL), Seamus Hughes Kennedy (IRL), Niels Bruynseels (BEL), Christian Ahlmann (GER), Yuri Mansur (BRA), Jeroen Dubbeldam (NED), Kim Emmen (NED) and Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli (SWE). Flying straight in from New York are Nicola and Olivier Philippaerts (BEL), Thibeau Spits (BEL) and Gilles Thomas (BEL), fresh off his victory in the New York LGCT Grand Prix and ready to take on another high-stakes week in Lanaken.

Returning Medal Contenders
Former medaillists are back in Lanaken to chase new glory. Sniper des Lilas Blancs, vice-champion among the six-year-olds in 2024, now steps up to the seven-year-old category with Kendra Claricia Brinkop (GER). Also returning is Niamh McEvoy (IRL), with Boleybawn Alvaro, the duo that claimed the silver medal in the five-year-olds in 2023.

Prestigious Anniversary Edition
The 30th anniversary edition brings with it a program more extensive and prestigious than ever before. In addition to the World Championships for Young Horses, spectators can look forward to the Z-ranking ceremony, FEI Sires of the World, and the Studbook Zangersheide Stallion Selection, unveiling the breeding stars of tomorrow. The Belgian showjumping championship will also be a highlight, as the country’s leading riders go head-to-head for the national title.
