Gijón, Spain – August 28, 2025 – The two-star tests continue. In this case the Dicar Trophy, the first CSI 2* qualifying test for the FEI ranking. 1.45m high, almost 30,000 euros in prizes and a total of 58 participants. But only 15 of the pairs on the track have been able to finish the course without penalties. The difficulty of the tests is increasing as the weekend’s grand prix approaches, and the competitiveness on the Las Mestas turf can only increase.

For Jur Vrieling (NED) and the mare Helwell du Chabus it was not a problem to complete the course in 67.87 seconds. A few hundredths more is what it took Eduardo Álvarez Aznar (ESP) with the stallion Genaro Paulois to cross the finish line, and a little more for the third-place finishers, the Italian Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) with Crack Balou.

Sponsored by DICAR and with 28,200 euros in prizes, it presented a scale A without a tiebreaker, like the previous test. It was one of the big two-star events, and the first Equestrian Gijón event that scored for the FEI Longines Ranking.

Each position for a rider of a different nationality, making visible the high international participation this year.
