Artemus de Almeida & Dubruc JMen Dazzle in the Gold Tour Challenge CSI 4*-W at São Paulo

São Paulo, Brazil – August 22, 2025 – The $43,700 Gold Tour Jump-off Challenge CSI 4*-W was the perfect ending to a fantastic Friday at Sociedade Hípica Paulista. As the temperature rose on the third day of competition at the Longines São Paulo Horse Show – Indoor Jumping of Brazil CSI 4*-W, so did level of the competition. When it was all said and done, Artemus de Almeida (BRA) and Dubruc JMen‘s daring performance proved to be the winning one.

The duo were one of the 29 entries that faced Guilherme’s Jorge (BRA) course composed of 12 obstacles, 15 jumping efforts in the first round. Damian Ancic (ARG) and Cadilliac were the trailblazers, answering all the questions before crossing the finish line just six hundredths of a second within the time allowed of 73 seconds.

Gabriel Kayan Soares Magalhães (BRA) & Expecto du Vieux Chateau do Santo Antônio

A jump-off was guaranteed when the sixth combination, Gabriel Kayan Soares Magalhães (BRA) and Expecto du Vieux Chateau do Santo Antônio posted a foot-perfect performance in 70.33 seconds.

They were joined by the current Pan-American champion Stephan Barcha (BRA), aboard Chantily JMen, Mariana Cassettari (BRA) & Cornets Goldra JMen, Guilherme Foroni (BRA) & Casella Blanca JMen, Eduardo Sennati Mattar (BRA) & Galiano des Fourches, Artemus de Almeida (BRA) & Dubruc JMen, Luciana Lóssio (BRA) & Lady Louise JMen, Felipe Ferreira Figuereido (BRA) & CEHJUR Balenny, bringing the total number of finalists to 9 for the tiebreaker. The results of the first round emphasized the importance of Haras Agromen, known by the suffix JMen, in the breeding of showjumpers in Brazil, putting 5 of their own horses in the grand finale.

Exciting Jump-off

The jump-off course proved to be very exciting, especially the final line from the double, 6a & 6b, shortly followed by a very tight rollback to vertical number 8 before a long gallop to obstacle number one and finish line right after it. Known for his masterful courses, Jorge put them to the test in regards to scope, control and speed all the way to the wire.

Damian got things started again but came up short, having one rail down. Gabriel Kayan Soares Magalhães (BRA) with Expecto du Vieux Chateau do Santo Antônio followed, showing the way to the rest of the competition by going clear, setting the time to beat at 35.21 seconds. Would the time they had set be enough for the win, had they put enough pressure on the remaining contests? Only time would tell…,.

After a textbook performance in the first round, Stephan Barcha (BRA) pushed hard on Chantily JMen from the start and despite registering what would be the fastest time in the tiebreaker (31.12 seconds), a rail down meant that they were out of contention. Mariana Cassettari (BRA) and Cornets Goldra JMen had the same fate as her predecessor while Guilherme Foroni (BRA) had two poles down with Casella Blanca JMen.

Things got exciting again when Eduardo Sennati Mattar (BRA) and Galiano des Fourches took the lead from Gabriel, lowering the mark to 32.73 seconds.

However, it was short lived since Artemus de Almeida (BRA) and Dubruc JMen, the 12-year-old Brazilian Sport Horse (BH) stallion, bred and owned by Haras Agromen managed to complete the required turns very tight while still leaving all the poles up, putting themselves at the top of the leaderboard after stopping the timers in 31.31 seconds. One of the fan favorites, Luciana Lóssio (BRA) and Lady Louise JMen disappointed their supporters with four penalty-points, it was not their day.

One more combination to come: Felipe Ferreira Figuereido (BRA) and CEHJUR Balenny, one final chance. The duo fought for the win, clearing all the obstacles before the final line. One final gasp, Felipe was very brave, going all out, blazing fast but the last obstacle came down.

In the end, it was Artemus de Almeida (BRA) and Dubruc JMen who walked away victoriously, followed by Eduardo Sennati Mattar (BRA) and Galiano des Fourches in second place and Gabriel Kayan Soares Magalhães (BRA) and Expecto du Vieux Chateau do Santo Antônio conquering bronze honors.
