São Paulo, Brazil – August 21, 2025 – Major FEI-level competition got underway on Thursday at the 2025 Longines São Paulo Horse Show – Indoor Jumping of Brazil CSI 4*-W and it was Rodrigo da Silva Reis (BRA) and Kim Novak JMen who reigned supreme in the highlight of the day, claiming the “crown jewel”, the USD $24,300 of the Jump-off Challenge CSI 4*-W.
As the course designer of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, it was up to Guilherme Jorge (BRA) to elaborate the test for the jackpot of the 1.45m class which was contested by 55 combinations in the first round. Amongst them the current Pan-American champion, Stephan Barcha (BRA), and familiar names such as: José Roberto Reynoso Fernandez Filho (BRA), Francisco José Mesquita Musa (BRA), Luciana Lóssio (BRA), Thiago Rhavy (BRA) and others, all of them having already competed overseas and recorded important victories in Europe and the United States.

A testament of drama to come, 7 combinations mastered the first-round course, thus advancing to the tiebreaker. With a more conservative approach compared to most other finalists, Rodrigo and the 10-year-old chestnut Brazilian Sport Horse mare, owned by Agromen Agropecuária were able to replicate the feat, delivering a foot-perfect performance in 47.68 seconds for the win.

José Roberto Reynoso Fernandez Filho (BRA) was over seven seconds faster in the decisive round aboard Casillero JMen but their time of 40.09 seconds came at the expense of a rail down, meaning that they would have to settle for second.

Rounding out the top three after two valiant performances and four penalty-points, it was Luciana Lóssio (BRA) who guided SL Oscar 1501 across the finish line in 41.51 seconds.
Running from Tuesday to next Sunday, the country’s most traditional showjumping event takes place for the 35th time at Sociedade Hípica Paulista (SHP – Paulista Equestrian Society), the most traditional equestrian center in South America, situated in the heart of São Paulo, the fourth biggest city in the world, Brazil’s most important economic center with a bustling metropolitan area.
Besides 4*W-level contests, there are also 5* national-rated classes, offering much excitement throughout the week, all of this totalling over 2 million reais to be distributed in prize money. Moreover, there are several attractions at the showgrounds: wine and dine, a boutique area with luxurious equestrian shops and performances by famous musical artists and bands, the place to be for horse lovers of all ages.
