Thirty-one of the Best Riders in the World Clash at the Longines Deauville Classic CSI 4* this Week!

Deauville, France – August 13, 2025 – The ninth edition of the Longines Deauville Classic CSI 4* promises to be unforgettable and at a level never before achieved. In fact, thirty-one of the hundred best riders in the Longines world ranking are expected at the Longines International Horse Center. Final stage of the Normandy Summer Tour and the Challenge des Haras d’Authuit, this CSI 4* promises great sport. As always, entry will be free from Thursday to Sunday, and all events will be broadcast live on GrandPrix.tv.

Many 5* CSI’s would welcome such a level of competition. This, thirty-one members of the top hundred of the Longines world ranking of riders are expected to take part in the CSI 4* of the Longines Deauville Classic. A source of immense satisfaction for the GrandPrix Events teams, who have been investing in the beautiful infrastructures of the Longines International Horse Center every summer since 2017. On an international calendar increasingly rich in 4* and 5* level competitions, Deauville is more than ever a major summer event. It must be said that the heart of the famous seaside resort of the Côte Fleurie, inseparable from the horse, beats even stronger during this period when gallop races happily coexist on the Clairefontaine and Touques racecourses, the Barrière Polo Cup at La Touques and the auctions of Thoroughbreds and sport horses.

“We are proud to welcome so many great champions to Deauville”, Vincent Goehrs

The great sport meets the public from Thursday August 14 with the Vilamoura Classic Prize CSI 4* at 1.50m, first qualifier for the premier event. Not to be missed, in the evening, the outcome of the Longines Equestrian Challenge Normandy, where jockeys and jumping riders exchange their outfits for a moment of sharing extraordinary pleasure. On Friday August 15, a public holiday, a 1.50m jump-off event will deliver the last tickets for the Grand Prix. It will be raced in the colors of the Fences agency, on the eve of the fifth Deauville Classic Auction, the catalog of which can be discovered here. On Saturday August 16, the Range Rover Prize at 1.50m and jump-off will serve as a pre-final, before the highlight of this ninth edition, the Longines Grand Prix of the Normandy Region CSI 4*, rated at 1.55m and endowed with 105,500 euros.

All these events will count for the world ranking, but also for the Challenge des Haras d’Authuit, which began at Cabourg Classic and continued at Sotheby’s International Realty in Deauville CSIO 3*. For now, Kevin Staut (FRA), invincible or almost invincible in Cabourg, is leading the way ahead of the Belgians Dimme d’Haese and Jérôme Guéry (BEL). At stake, a foal of the year, which the winner of the challenge will have the honor of choosing himself in the Authuit pastures, from a selection of young shoots with promising genetics.

With the sun looking bright, the Longines Deauville Classic will guarantee a memorable finale for the Normandy Summer Tour. “All the lights are green, and we are proud at the idea of welcoming so many great champions to Deauville,” rejoices Vincent Goehrs, president of the GrandPrix group. “The arrival of more than thirty of the hundred best riders in the world honors us. I perceive their confidence as a reward for all the work accomplished with professionalism by the GrandPrix Events teams, who will endeavor to conclude a very successful year in 2025. This demonstrates once again the attractiveness of Deauville and its equestrian and receptive infrastructures, but also the attachment of riders to Normandy, a region which welcomes them like nowhere else. This exceptional level also rewards, of course, the constantly renewed commitment of our public and private partners, without whom none of this would be possible.”

See you from Thursday August 14 to Sunday August 17 at the Longines International Horse Center, where entry will remain free throughout the event. All events, as well as the auctions of the Deauville Classic Auction, will be broadcast live on GrandPrix.tv.
