Chantilly Classic CSI 4*: The Historic Setting of Chantilly Welcomes an Exception Sporting Event

Chantilly, France โ€“ July 09, 2025 โ€“ From July 10 to 13, 2025, theย Chantillyย Classic returns to theย Chantillyย Racecourse for four days of top-level sport, entertainment, and conviviality, between the legendary Chรขteau and the Grandes ร‰curies. Free and open to all, this unique event brings together equestrian enthusiasts, families, and the curious in a prestigious setting.

An Exceptional Venue for High-level Sport

Since its revival in 2023 by GrandPrix Events, theย Chantillyย Classic has established itself as a key fixture on the international equestrian calendar. It combines elite sport with a historic backdrop in one of Franceโ€™s most iconic heritage sites.

Highlights from Two Remarkable Editions

The Grand Prix de la Ville de Chantilly CSI 4*, the eventโ€™s highlight class, has so far only been won by women:

  • In 2023, American rider Laura Kraut (USA), Olympic team champion, made headlines by claiming her second victory in the Chantilly Grand Prix, thirteen years after her historic win with Cedric. This time, she triumphed aboard her promising mare, Bisquetta, as the competition made its long-awaited return after a one-year hiatus.
  • In 2024, Brazilโ€™s Luciana Lรณssio (BRA), a rising star on the international scene, stunned the field. A talented amateur, she claimed her very first European Grand Prix victory riding Lady Louise JMen, her loyal 14-year-old bay, having already shone in Wellington earlier that year. Her win against forty-eight seasoned competitors marked the exceptional rise of this unconventional pair.

A 2025 Edition Full of Promise

The 2025 Chantilly Classic will welcome some of the worldโ€™s top riders, competing on technical courses designed by Grรฉgory Bodo (FRA), co-designer of the jumping tracks for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

A Meticulously Prepared Grass Arena

In Chantilly, the show also takes placeโ€ฆ under the horsesโ€™ hooves. Throughout the winter, the grass arenas have undergone careful preparation to provide the best possible conditions for horses and riders. Led by Green-Consult, an international reference in sports surfaces, the renovation has restored the legendary Chantilly turf to its optimal suppleness, resilience, and absorption capacity.

โ€œThe Chantilly grounds needed a fresh start. We carried out major decompaction work and enhanced the soil structure to ensure it can withstand the impact of horses while offering excellent drainage,โ€ explains Michel Poncelet, founder of Green-Consult, who also works on prestigious shows such as La Baule, Valkenswaard, and Fontainebleau.

Thanks to this in-depth work and a carefully selected mix of resilient grasses, the Chantilly turf now combines aesthetics, safety, and performance. A living, robust surface designed to meet the demands of top-level sportโ€”and the unpredictability of weather.

A New Format to Make the Most of the Weekend

New this year: the dates of the Chantilly Classic have been adjusted to offer riders and spectators an ideally paced four-day program. The competition will now run from Thursday to Sunday, focusing the highlights of both sport and entertainment over the weekend.

Sunday promises to be particularly spectacular with, at 1:30 p.m., an exclusive equestrian show by Elisa Laville and Jules Coquerel, two talented performers sharing the arena for the very first time in front of the Grandes ร‰curies.

Then, at 2:30 p.m., the much-anticipated Grand Prix de la Ville de Chantilly CSI 4* will bring together the finest riders of the moment for the sporting climax of the weekend.

Top International Riders Expected

The 2025 starting list is already looking world-class. Among the expected headliners: Frenchman Kevin Staut (FRA), currently ranked 11th in the world.

  • American rider Laura Kraut (USA), winner in Chantilly 2023 and runner-up in the prestigious Rolex Grand Prix in Aachen just last Sunday
  • Britainโ€™s Scott Brash (GBR), 12th in the world, a major figure on the international circuit
  • Also expected on the French side: Nicolas Delmotte (FRA), Marc Dilasser (FRA), Roger-Yves Bost (FRA), and Pรฉnรฉlope Leprรฉvost (FRA), setting the stage for elite competition in front of the Grandes ร‰curies.

Entertainment & Shows for the Whole Family

Chantilly Classic is more than just sport: for four days, visitors of all ages can enjoy pony rides, circus workshops, bouncy castles, mini jumping courses, and a lively shopping village. On Saturday, the spotlight is on the final of Chantillyโ€™s Got Talent, a unique competition celebrating equestrian arts (liberty, vaulting, dressage). Three finalists will perform in the main arena, judged by a panel of ambassadors and the public. The winner will earn a chance to perform at an international GRANDPRIX Events competition in 2026.

Sport, shows, activities, and discoveries: everything is in place to make Chantilly Classic 2025 an unforgettable event for the whole family.
