Will Simpson & Chacco P Power Past the Competition at Spruce Meadows

Calgary, Canada – July 03, 2025 – Will Simpson (USA) and Chacco P won today’s International Ring competition, The Crew 1.45m, to kick off the FEI 5* competitions of the North American Tournament. Simpson posted the fastest clear round with a time of 68.86 seconds to secure victory.

Patricio Pasquel P (MEX) and Cabablue came the closest to the eventual winners, finishing second due to their time of 69.81 seconds.

Kara Chad (CAN) and Corinna Z gave the home crowd something to cheer about, rounding out the top three in 70.37 seconds.

“It’s (Spruce Meadows) been great. The horse is really loving up here. The atmosphere is great, and, I’m so excited to be here for the 50th anniversary. I hadn’t been here in a while, so, it’s been a it’s been a great. All the all the riders that we brought (and horses) are all very excited and talking about coming back next year.” Will Simpson on his return to Spruce Meadows and how the summer has gone thus far.

The courses for this week’s FEI 5* competitions will be designed by FEI Course Designer Santiago Varela (ESP). Riders will compete in tomorrow’s qualifier, Jayman Built Cup, looking to secure their spot for a chance in Saturday’s $1,000,000 ATCO Queen Elizabeth II Cup.
