Kevin Staut & Vida Loca Z Storm to Victory in the €105,500 CWD Grand Prix of the City of Cabourg CSI 4*

Cabourg, France – June 01, 2025 – They were expected, they shone. This Sunday afternoon, Kevin Staut (FRA) and Vida Loca Z offered the Normandy public a high-flying finale by winning the €105,500 CWD Grand Prix of the City of the Cabourg CSI 4*, the high point of the very first CSI 4* in the history of Cabourg Classic. Already winners of Thursday’s major event and second on Friday, the Norman and his chestnut concluded an exemplary week with a resounding victory, acquired at the end of a perfectly controlled jump-off.

Designed by Spanish track manager Isabel Fernández de Cañete (ESP), the initial course gave rise to a demanding selection, leaving only nine combinations undefeated out of fifty at the start. Among them, the Kevin Staut (FRA) and Vida Loca Z duo flew over the barrier with fluidity and daring, completing their lap three and a half seconds faster than their closest competitors. The audience, won over, gave the former world number one a standing ovation, at home between Deauville and Honfleur.

Behind the Habs, the Belgians Robin van Thillo (BEL) and My Jewel’s Magic Touch and Dimme d’Haese (BEL) and La Costa completed the podium brilliantly. Nicolas Layec, solid and consistent, achieved a very good fourth place with Fée de Caryan. Let us also mention the promising fifth place of Sara Brionne, all in panache with Grand Duc du Paradiso, one of the most anticipated French horses of his generation.

If Vida Loca will not be at the start of the next European Championships, her rider can look to the future with ambition. This victory confirms the relaunch of the couple and the rise in power of the CSI 4* of Cabourg Classic, the 2025 edition of which will remain engraved as a sporting and popular turning point, like a completely renovated site, a field of exceptional riders, and a loyal public, who came in large numbers throughout the weekend.
