Gudrun Patteet Powers to Victory in the Demeures de Campagne Prize CSI 4*

Cabourg, France – May, 2025 – Second of the four highlights of the of Cabourg Classic CSI 4*, the Demeures de Campagne Prize CSI 4* today crowned the Belgian Gudrun Patteet (BEL) in the saddle of Sea Coast Chica VV. The rider won at the end of a hotly contested jump-off, signing the greatest victory for her ten-year-old mare. Kevin Staut (FRA) and Tom Wachman (IRL) complete this high-flying podium.

Already winner of a 2023 Grand Prix 3* in in Rosières-aux-Salines, the Z mare from Comme il Faut 5 and Chacco-Blue today signed her first success at this demanding level. “I think she will be able to grow up to 1.60m, but she remains very sensitive to her environment. We will have to choose our deadlines carefully,” confided the Flemish rider, who had already shone at the Compiègne Classic this season.

Among the sixty-eight combinations at the start, sixteen qualified for the jump-off. Gudrun Patteet (BEL) was just one breath ahead of Kevin Staut (FRA), victorious yesterday with Vida Loca in the Prix des Haras Normands, and again flawless today. Irishman Tom Wachman (IRL), associated with Obora’s Laura, completes this leading trio. Eight combinations achieved the double without penalties, including Jérôme Guéry (4th), Kyle Timm (5th), Pedro Veniss (6th), José Bono Rodríguez (7th) and Frédéric Vernaet (8th).

On the French side, five riders ranked between 9th and 13th place despite a mistake in the jump-off: Dylan Levallois (FRA), Valentin Besnard (FRA), Nicolas Layec (FRA), Leona Mermillod Baron (FRA) and Édouard Chauvet (FRA). All are already qualified for the CWD Grand Prix of the City of Cabourg CSI 4*, the highlight of the competition this Sunday.
