Fontainebleau, France – April 21, 2025 – In just a few days’ time, the fourth edition of Le Printemps des Sports Équestres will host two of the world’s top show jumping (CSI 5) and dressage (CDI 5) competitions. The riders at the very top of the world rankings in these disciplines will travel to Fontainebleau and the Grand Parquet site for the occasion for a very exciting competition. In show jumping, seven of the twenty best riders in the world will be present, including World number 1 Henrik von Eckermann and the recent winner of the Longines FEI World Cup Final, Julien Épaillard (FRA). It promises to be a thrilling weekend!
Sixty-two riders will be competing in the CSI5, one of the world’s top international shows since 2024, including almost half of the world’s top 20. The World number 1, Henrik von Eckermann (SWE), Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs (No.7), Ireland’s Cian O’Connor (No.12), as well as Julien Épaillard (No.14) and Kevin Staut (No.15), winner and third respectively in the Longines FEI World Cup Final in Basel a few weeks ago, will be present. Simon Delestre (No.9) and Olivier Perreau (No.93), team bronze medallists at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games alongside Julien Épaillard (FRA), will also be in the ring. A good number of the world’s elite have also confirmed their presence, including Belgium’s Pieter Devos (No.33), Jérôme Guéry (No.36), Gilles Thomas (No.25) and Grégory Wathelet (No.48), Luxembourg’s Victor Bettendorf (No.47) and Switzerland’s Janika Sprunger (No.194) and Pius Schwizer (No.52). So Grégory Bodo and Santiago Varela Ullastres (ESP), the show’s course designers, will have a difficult task determining who will be the winner among so many of the world’s top combinations! Who will succeed Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat (SUI) in Sunday’s GL events Grand Prix? And who will be the first to add their name to the list of winners in the new flagship ‘Masters’ class on Saturday 26 April? All will be revealed during these key classes in the Carrière de Princes! A family affair Thanks to its comprehensive and varied programme, Le Printemps des Sports Équestres will be playing host to a number of champion families who will take part in the various competition labels. Pénélope Leprévost (FRA), 2016 Olympic team champion in Rio, and her daughter Eden Leprévost Blin Lebreton (FRA), will be present in the Master Pro FFE and the CSI 5. Argentinian father and son José Maria Jr. and Matias Larocca (ARG), will be taking part in the CSI 5. Philippe Rozier (FRA) and his daughter Laura will be competing in the CSI 5 and the FFE Master Pro. Louis Perreau (FRA), the son of Olivier, will be looking to stand out again in the Amateur Gold Tour.
Although Steve Guerdat SUI), the winner of the GL events Grand Prix in 2024 and a rider who really loves Fontainebleau will not be competing this year, the Guerdat family will be represented by his wife, Fanny Guerdat-Skalli, in the CSI 2. And siblings will also be competing in this very family-orientated edition of Le Printemps des Sports Équestres such as Jeanne and Louise Sadran (FRA), Inès and Célèste Joly (FRA), Noa and Maïly Verel and Julia and Léona MermillodBaron will also be taking part in the CSI 5, the Master Pro, the CSI2* and the CSIP classes.
