‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands โ March 15, 2025 โ The five-star โฌ56,800 Audi Prize CSI 5* – 1.50m took place on Saturday evening provided spectacle with fifteen barrage rides, but no one could match Daniel Deusser (GER). With a rock-solid ride, he set himself over a second clear of the competition and convincingly grabbed victory with Otello de Guldenboom.
Deusser had a clever strategy with a rock-solid execution. โIn the jump-off there were not many opportunities to do anything different from the rest,โ Deusser analysed afterwards. โThe key was in the line from obstacle two to three. Otello has a great canter, but by nature he is not the fastest horse. Yet he stayed so cool in the turns that I was able to omit a canter jump there. That made the difference.โ
Thijssen Breaks German Supremacy
Behind Deusser, Germany’s top riders were strongly represented, including Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) who guided Vestmalle des Cotis to second place.
It was the young rider Mans Thijssen (NED) who was the only one of the field to break the German hegemony. With his 13-year-old Hello, he cleverly nestled in between the established names and took a podium spot. Further in the top five, Marcus Ehning (GER) and Richard Vogel (GER) joined the best combinations of the evening.
