
Vejer de La Frontera, Spain โ March 06, 2025 โ Major FEI-level competition took off to new heights on Thursday at the 2025 Andalucรญa Sunshine Tour. Thursdayโs main class was the โฌ10,250 Hipotels Trophy CSI 4*, won by William Fletcher (GBR), who rides for Great Britain.
Despite being their first class at the venue this season, he piloted the talented 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare Iwalinde (VDL Zirocco Blue x Corland) to victory in the 1.50m speed challenge which was sponsored by the Junta de Andalucรญa, through the Consejerรญa de Turismo and Andalucรญa Exterior, and by the Diputaciรณn provincial de Cรกdiz. The dynamic duo were the only ones to complete the course under 60 seconds after leaving all the poles up for no penalties.
In second place was the Belgian rider, who is no stranger to the podium here at Montenmedio, Jรฉrรดme Guery (BEL) with the 13-year-old mare, Killer Queen (Diablo Blanco x Toulon). The highest-placed Spanish rider was รlex Codina Leria with Jarno, a 16-year-old gelding by Non Stop x Sheyenne de Baugy, finishing third.
