
Doha, Qatar – February 26, 2025 – Oliver Lazarus (RSA) kicked off major competition at the 2025 Longines Global Champions Tour in grand fashion, lighting up to win the first major class at the event, €28,200 Speed Challenge CSI 3*. Lazarus (RSA) posted an impressive performance aboard the 14-year-old bay Selle Français mare (Quaprice Bois Margot x Lux Z) to claim the win in the highly-contested class, going up against 43 other combinations. The dynamic duo dashed towards first place backed by a clean run in 58.53 seconds.

Ali Al Khorafi (UAE) and Karaat were the closest ones, finishing less than four-tenths of a second behind the eventual winners.

Mariano Martinez Bastida (UAE) and Belano vd Wijnhoeve blazed through the course too, rounding out the top three just one-hundredth of a second behind the latter two.

The top three riders were awarded by His Excellency, Mr. Nasser Al Hajri, Sports Director of the event.
