CSIO St. Gallen Extends its Partnership with Longines

St. Gallen, February 27, 2025 – Thanks to the continued support of Longines as title partner and official timekeeper, the Longines CSIO St. Gallen will take place as planned from May 29 to June 1, 2025 in the Gründenmoos stadium. The highlights of the sports program will remain the unique Nations Cup on Friday and the Longines Grand Prix of Switzerland with a prize money of 500,000 euros as the crowning finale on Sunday.

Longines has been a partner of the traditional St. Gallen tournament since 2002 and even title partner since 2013. Now the Swiss watch brand from Saint-Imier has assured the CSIO St. Gallen of its continued support as title partner and official timekeeper. “We are delighted to continue our partnership with the CSIO St. Gallen. This traditional tournament is one of the most important events in international equestrian sport and embodies values such as precision, passion and top performance – values with which we strongly identify as a brand.

The CSIO St. Gallen offers a unique platform where sporting excellence and unforgettable moments come together. It is therefore a pleasure for us to continue to support this outstanding event and contribute to the development of equestrian sport,” says Matthias Breschan, CEO of Longines.

“We are delighted by Longines’ clear and impressive commitment to our show,” emphasizes Nayla Stössel, President of the Longines CSIO St. Gallen. “Thanks to the commitment of our partners, first and foremost Longines of course, but also the MS Direct Group and Land Rover, we can offer the athletes and spectators the established program with top-class show jumping competitions and excellent entertainment for the whole family.”

Attractive Sports Program with the Proven Highlights
The Nations Cup of Switzerland will continue to make the Longines CSIO St. Gallen unique. The team competition will be held on Friday afternoon with eight participating nations. “We have already received ten requests from renowned equestrian sports countries to take part. This underlines the high international importance and appreciation of our tournament,” emphasizes Nayla Stössel.

Of the six competitions at five-star level, the speed and handiness class is the sporting highlight on Saturday. The Longines Grand Prix of Switzerland, with a prize money of half a million euros, will conclude the four days of the show on Sunday afternoon. The highly esteemed tour for young horses and a new tour for talented young riders up to the age of 25 round off the international competitions. From a national perspective, the Les Trois Rois Swiss Cup Final on Saturday afternoon stands out. “With this program, we are keeping our promise that we will continue to hold a top tournament in St. Gallen,” says a delighted Nayla Stössel.

Significant Improvement of the Grass Arena
Immediately after the end of the 2024 tournament, the much-desired improvement of the ground was initiated. Together with the city and canton of St. Gallen and with the involvement of a renowned expert, the ground was meticulously analysed and the improvement measures proposed by the expert have been implemented since August and will be completed in spring. “We are convinced that we will be able to offer all participants a significantly improved grass arena from this year onwards, but of course we would also like to see significantly less rain than in 2024,” says Nayla Stössel.

Kai Huttrop-Hage New Event Director
After six intensive years as Event Director, Thomas Zweifel would like to have more time for his family alongside his professional commitments and is handing over the reins of the Longines CSIO St. Gallen to Kai Huttrop-Hage.
