
Doha, Qatar – February 15, 2025 – The Belgian anthem was heard last Friday on the second day of three-day event HH The Amir Sword International Equestrian Festival CSI 5* & CSI 3*-W at the magnificent Longines arena of Al Shaqab.

The €105,500 FEI World Cup of Doha CSI 3*-W, run under the format of two rounds and featuring obstacles set at the height of 1.50 meters, was clinched by Belgian rider Abdel Said (BEL). He and Arpege du Ru, a 2010 chestnut Selle Français mare (Apache d’Adriers x Quat’Sous) posted the fastest clean final round in 41.62 seconds to secure first place.

Germany’s Janne F. Meyer-Zimmermann (GER) and Iron Dames High Level matched their clean scorecard, finishing second due to their final time of 43.50 seconds.

Frenchman Antoine Ermann (FRA) on bay gelding Odin Van’T Hanegoor claimed the third podium place clocking 81.44 and 44.19 seconds in the first and second round
Said was delighted with his triumph and said, “I so wanted do well in Qatar and I am very happy that I kept calm in the jump off and came out with the winning result.” He also praised the Festival’s organization. “Everything is top class and the field has top class riders. Everything is good and challenges one to deliver their best. I also congratulate all the other winners.”
