Sara Vingralkova Victorious over Titans of the Sport in the Harry Wouters van den Oudenweijer Prize CSI 5*-W

Amsterdam, The Netherlands – January 26, 2025 – Just when everyone thought that Martin Fuchs (SUI) had already secured victory in the €56,800 Harry Wouters van den Oudenweijer Prize CSI 5*-W, Sara Vingralkova (CZE), the last participant in the jump-off, stormed to a surprising victory with Constantin 110 (Colestus x Quidam de Revel). The young Czech student of Jur Vrieling was the boss of a strong field of 15 jump-off riders and kept acknowledged speed demons such as Martin Fuchs (SUI) and Julien Epaillard (FRA) at bay.F

Almost a Second Faster
As the last starter, Vingralkova took almost a second off the time that Martin Fuchs had set with L&L Upgrade (Ultimo x Baloubet du Rouet) at the very beginning of the jump-off of this 1.50 m class. The 0 in 36.34 seconds was definitely open to improvement: 0/35.44. The third man on the podium was Julien Epaillard (FRA). The ‘Flying Frenchman’ who won so many prizes in Amsterdam rode Dubai de Soie (Quaoukoura du Ty x Heartbreaker) to 0/36.87 and third place.

One of the Best Moments
“This is one of the best moments of my career”, says 23-year-old Czech rider Sara Vingralkova. “At a 5-star event, where there is so much atmosphere, in front of full stands, it just doesn’t get any better!”

Support from Mentor Vrieling
Vingralkova had the support of her mentor Jur Vrieling (NED). “He said: go for it, he inspired me to go really fast. I was lucky that I was allowed to go last. I had seen Martin Fuchs (SUI) and Julien Epaillard (FRA) ride, so I could make my plan and knew where I could accelerate. And I am lucky with my horse. Constantin is naturally fast and always cooperates wonderfully in the ring. I am so incredibly happy that it worked out here at this fantastic event!”
