Doha, Qatar – January 09, 2025 – Under the slogan “Where nobility meets history”, the opening round of the 2025 Doha International Equestrian Tour kicked off at the glorious Longines Arena at Al Shaqab – a member of the Qatar Foundation on Thursday, January 9.
The first round of the 2025 Doha International Equestrian Tour, the first international equestrian championship to be held in Qatar this year, has a participation of more than 150 male and female riders from more than 30 countries, with total prizes worth more than 1.7 million euros on offer.
The first day of the three-day tour witnessed the one-star, two-star and four-star categories in 6 rounds and at different heights.
The World Cup qualifying CSI4*-W – Faults & Time – 1.45m (LR) class saw Spaniard Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP) excel on Jup with a flawless time of 65.51 seconds while Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) on Fiumicino van de Kalevallei was second in 65.80 seconds, and his compatriot Abdulrahman Alrajhi (KSA) with Ventago third in 66.52 seconds.
The winners were honoured by Mr. Hamza Al Kuwari, Director of Corporate Services at Al Shaqab.

1) Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP) & Jup – 0 – 65.51
2) Abdullah Al Sharbatly (KSA) & Fiumicino van de Kalevallei – 0 – 65.80
3) Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi (KSA) & Ventago – 0 – 66.52
