Doha, Qatar– January 09, 2025 – Under the slogan “Where nobility meets history”, the opening round of the 2025 Doha International Equestrian Tour kicked off at the glorious Longines Arena at Al Shaqab – a member of the Qatar Foundation on Thursday, January 9.

The first round of the 2025 Doha International Equestrian Tour, the first international equestrian championship to be held in Qatar this year, has a participation of more than 150 male and female riders from more than 30 countries, with total prizes worth more than 1.7 million euros on offer.

The first day of the three-day tour witnessed the one-star, two-star and four-star categories in 6 rounds and at different heights.

In the two-star category Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) claimed the top podium place with a flawless routine in a swift 61.7 seconds on Quirinus 27, followed by Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP), 62.54 seconds on Quark de Preuilly Z, while Austrian Gerfried Puck (ITA) was third in 63.08 seconds on Idiaal Special H.J.

Final Results – €28,200 Grand Prix Qualifier CSI 2*

1) Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) & Quirinus 27 – 0 – 61.70

2) Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP) & Quark de Preuilly Z – 0 – 62.54

3) Gerfried Puck (AUT) & Idiaal Special Z – 0 – 63.08
