Daniel Deusser & Robert Whitaker: Shared Winners of IFEMA 6-Bar Trophy at Madrid

Madrid, Spain – November 29, 2024 – The first day of IFEMA Madrid Horse Week concluded with an exciting and vibrant Six Bars, €27,600 IFEMA Madrid Trophy, which ended with a shared victory between Germany’s Daniel Deusser (GER) and Britain’s Robert Whitaker (GBR). Both riders, after overcoming a challenging course of up to 1.90 metres, finished tied with 4 points at the last obstacle.

With the stands packed and an unbeatable atmosphere, the Six Bars class closed the opening day of the competition at IFEMA Madrid Horse Week. A total of twelve riders, with great experience in this type of challenge, started the course, which consisted of two vertical finals, the last of them at 1.60 metres high.

Robert Whitaker (GBR) & Gentlemen VH Veldhof

Ten of the pairs managed to get through this first section without fault, advancing to the first tie-breaker, where the obstacle was raised to 1.75 metres. Only seven groups managed to pass without penalty, giving way to the next tie-break, which included a final vertical of 1.90 metres.

Eugenio Grimaldi (ITA) & Chanimo

The final outcome of the Six Bars test, consisting only of the second line of four verticals, left Daniel Deusser (GER), with Pepita van’T Meulenhof BR, and Robert Whitaker (GBR), with Gentlemen vh Veldhof, tied at the top of the standings with 4 points. Third place went to Spanish rider Eugenio Grimaldi, who, with his horse Chanimo, finished the course with 8 points.
