Kronenberg, The Netherlands – October 05, 2024 – Leopold van Asten (NED) and VDL Groep Kiara were victorious in the  €28,650 Grand Prix of Riesenbeck CSI 2* after a thrilling jump-off last Saturday at the Riesenbeck International Equestrian Center. Going up against 11 jump-off contestants, out of the original 58 other entries, from 12 other nations, in the first round of the 1.45m contest, the Dutchman and the 9-year-old chestnut Royal Dutch Sport Horse – Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) mare (Clearway x Papillon Rouge) prevailed, securing the win in 34.36 seconds.

Despite being denied the win, the host nation did managed to conquer the next two highest spots on the podium. Carsten-Otto Nagel (GER) rode GK Curacao impecably too, finishing second due to their final time of 34.36 seconds.

Jörg Naeve (GER) and Benur du Romet completed the podium in flawless fashion too, registering a final time of 36.66 seconds.
