Emanuele Gaudiano Gallops to Another Victory at El Jadida

El Jadida, Morocco โ€“ October 04, 2024 โ€“ Following the victory of Belgian Thierry Goffinet (BEL) and Quick Diamant HR over the previous day’s winning pair, Gaudiano (ITA) Jaja, in the first 4* class of the day, serious business began in El Jadida with the 1.50 m qualifier for Sunday’s Grand Prix, won again by… Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) . One day follows another in El Jadida.

The โ‚ฌ28,200 MAPM/SOREC Prize CSI 4*-W was run in two phases over a difficult 410 m course designed by Uliano Vezzani (ITA). Very few clear rounds – eight out of thirty-three starters – and in the end, the Italian won. Worst of all, he did it without giving the impression of having given his all. But Gaudiano reminds us after every win: Nikolaj de Music is a naturally fast horse. โ€œI rode him today and on Sunday he’ll jump the Grand Prix, so tomorrow I’ll give him a break and ride Chalou’s Love PS in the big class. I won the Grand Prix last year with Nikolaj and the plan is to retain that title next Sunday. This victory, along with yesterday’s, obviously, it makes me feel confident for next Sunday.

Not counting Jaja’s second place earlier in the afternoon, this edition of El Jadida is already a good show for meโ€. Yesterday, Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) revealed that Jaja was doing so well because his 11-year-old daughter Lisa had exercised him. Today, the grey gelding was beaten: โ€œIt’s normal, Lisa didn’t ride him today, she preferred to stay at the beachโ€.

Jessica Burke (IRL) & Express Trend

In this Prix MAPM/SOREC, the Italian was followed closed hot on hits heels by Ireland’s Jessica Burke (IRL) on Express Trend, one second behind.

The third spot on the podium was claimed by the inevitable Saudi Arabian Abdullah Alsharbatly (Ermindo W). With France’s Ines Jolly at the foot of the podium with Imposant van de Renger, it’s fair to say that (almost) all the favorites were on show today in this highly competitive class in preparation for Sunday’s Grand Prix de Sa Majestรฉ le Roi Mohammed VI.

In the meantime, tomorrow sees the traditional Winning Tour, with perhaps a surprise winner this time?
