Greenwich, Connecticut – September 29, 2024 – The 2024 Major League Show Jumping – Greenwich CSI 5* & CSI 2* came to an end on Sunday at the Greenwich Polo Club and to “warm up” for the grand prix, the $31,200 Winning Round CSI 5*. After the first round, the top 10 combinations returned for the decisive phase and this second round would determine the eventual winners despite their previous scores.

Five nations were represented in this final were the United States of America (3), Germany (2), Canada (2), Belgium (1), Ireland (1), Venezuela (1). Bringing the heat on, Luis Fernando Larrazabal (VEN) and Belle de Muze pranced and danced their way around the course, setting the early time to beat in 34.13 seconds. Rene Dittmer (GER) and Emerson were the second ones to produced a clean round, still being slower than the Venezuelan.

The six other combinations who followed were not able to improve the time by the the latin equestrian. There were still two other contestants to come, both of them highly-acclaimed ones, with much experience and many victories under their belts, representing a threat to Larrazabal’s lead.

The first stiff competition came from an European master of speed: Richard Vogel (GER), who showcased his talent again, daring Levi Noesar to pick up the pace on their way to taking over the top spot, doing so in 33.55 seconds.

One more pair to go, Nicola Philippaerts (GER) and H&M Luna van’t Ruytershof Z. For a while it seemed that the duo would challenge Vogel’s victory but the they came short, conquering third place in 34.23 seconds.
