Pius Schwizer Tastes the Champagne after Victory at Ascona

Ascona, Switzerland – September 14, 2024 – Pius Schwizer (SUI) was back in the winner’s circle on Saturday at CSI Ascona, tasting the champagne after topping the €28,500 Manz Isolazioni & Resinswiss | Mezzovico CSI 4*. Facing-off against 7 other combinations in the tiebreaker of the 1.45m challenge, the Swiss guided Grigia BR Z (George Z x Comme d’Api vd Hacienda) in flawless fashion before tripping the timers in 34.31 seconds aboard the 8-year-old chestnut Zangersheide mare.

Annina Züger-Hächler (SUI) & Batman d’Aiguilly

It was a one two by the host nation as Annina Züger-Hächler (SUI) and Batman d’Aiguilly tried to play the role of superheroes too, falling just short only due to their final time of 36 seconds flat.

Paris Sellon (USA) & Calida Z

Only one-hundredth of a second separated second and third-place finishers as Paris Sellon (USA) and Calida Z (Cornet Obolensky x Carthago) were right on the heels of the previous combination, rounding out the top three in 36.01 seconds.
