
Ascona, Switzerland – September 14, 2024 – Steve Guerdat (SUI) lit up the home crowd on Saturday at the CSI Ascona, winning the duel between two of the best riders in the world, Guerdat a former world number one and the current one Henrik von Eckermann (SWE). In the end, it was the Swiss who teamed up with Lancelotta for top honors by just one-hundredth of a second in the feature class of the day, the €55,500 Kataltherm Service Prize CSI 4*.
The Swiss and the 11-year-old bay Westphalian mare (Falkenhof’s Lancer x Orlando) triumphed in the 1.50m two-round challenge, registering no penalties and the final time of 42.12 seconds compared to Henrik von Eckermann and Calizi’s (Cellestial x Stakkatol) mark of 42.13 seconds.
Robert Whitaker (GBR) completed the top three with Vermento (Argento x Skippy), doing so in 42.48 seconds.
