Over & Staut! Kevin & Beau de Laubry Z Master the Course to Claim the $116,050 Tourmaline Oil Cup CSIO 5*

Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Canada โ€” September 06, 2024 โ€” After twelve years of competing at Spruce Meadows, Kevin Staut (FRA) celebrated his first-ever victory there, riding Beau de Laubry Z, winning the $116,050 Tourmaline Oil Cup CSIO 5*.

Second place went to Cian Oโ€™Connor (IRL) and Fermoy, the only other horse-rider pairing from a starting group of 33 to make the jump-off on designer Leopoldo Palaciosโ€™ (VEN) challenging International Ring course. Oโ€™Connor (IRL) had two poles down enabling Staut (FRA) and the 2013 Zangersheide gelding (Bisquet Balou x Nabab de Reve) to claim victory as the only combination with a clean scorecard in the tiebreaker.

Harrie Smolders (NED) and Uricas V/D Kattevennen had an unlucky time penalty in the first round, still managing to finished third at the end of the 1.60m contest.
