
Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Canada โย September 04, 2024 โ Two Europeans rose to stardom on opening day of the 2024 Masters Tournament CSIO 5* at Spruce Meadows, topping the two main contests there. Before going on to finish 11th in the $62,500 Cardel Homes Cup CSIO 5*, the feature class of the day which was won by a Julien Gonin (FRA), Matthew Sampson (GBR) had already ridden Fabrice Dn to victory in the 1.45m Telus Cup CSIO 5*.
Lillie Keenan (USA) with stallion Kick On came second, while Kristaps Neretnieks (LAT) and mare Quintes were third.
Sampson also beat an exceptionally talented group of riders in that competition including Guerdat and Maher, as well as 2023 CPKC โInternationalโ winner Martin Fuchs (SUI), in the one-round speed competition.
