Deauville, France – August 08, 2024 – The 2024 Longines Deauville Classic got underway on Thursday with the running of the  €29,100 Hermès Sellier Prize CSI 4* at the Pôle international du Cheval Longines – Deauville. Eighty-one combinations took part in the 1.50m speed challenge but it was the Irishman and who prevailed in the first qualifier for the Grand Prix.

Darragh (IRL) and Eddy Blue the 12-year-old bay Oldenburg gelding (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Chacco-Blue) dashed past the competition while managing to leave all the poles up, securing first place in 64.07 seconds.

Kevin Staut (FRA) & Dialou Blue PS powered towards second place in 64.77 seconds while the recent Olympic duo of Pedro Veniss (BRA) and Nimrod de Muze Império Egípcio rounded out the top three in 66.08 seconds.
