German Equestrian Federation Announces Team for the Olympic Games in Paris

Warendorf, Germany – June 26, 2024 – Following the Nations Cup tournament in Rotterdam/NED, the top sport working group of the jumping committee of the German Olympic Committee for Equestrian Sports (DOKR) has named the team members for upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, France. The replacement pair will be decided during the CHIO Aachen. In total there are nine riders with twelve horses on the list. As always, the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), which nominates participants in all sports for the Olympic Games in Paris, has the final say.

The show jumpers will fight for medals from August 1st to 6th. In Paris, three rider-horse pairs per discipline are allowed to take part in the equestrian competitions for Germany. In addition, a replacement pair is allowed to travel to France and can also be used. As a team for Paris, the jumping committee proposes the following combinations to the DOSB for nomination:

Christian Kukuk (Riesenbeck) with Checker

Richard Vogel (Pfungstadt) with United Touch S

Philipp Weishaupt (Riesenbeck) with Zineday

This time we decided early on which pairs should take part in the Olympic Games in order to give these riders security and to give them an individual program for further preparation,” explained national coach Otto Becker.

The following riders and horses are on the other jumping longlist for Paris (in alphabetical order) :

Kendra Claricia Brinkop (Wolvertem/BEL) with Tabasco de Toxadrine Z

Hans-Dieter Dreher (Eimeldingen) with Elysium

Marcus Ehning (Borken) with Coolio

Christian Kukuk with Just be Gentle and Mumbai

Jörne Sprehe (Fürth) with Sprehe Hot Easy

André Thieme (Plau am See) with DSP Chakaria

Jana Wargers (Emsdetten) with Dorette and Limbridge
