
Rotterdam, The Netherlands โ June 20, 2024 โ Daniel Coyle has won the โฌ30,000 Port of Rotterdam Prize CSIO 5*. The Irish, a former winner of the Grand Prix of Rotterdam, gave it his all to secure victory in Thursday’s final competition.
Coyle, winner of the 2022 Grand Prix of Rotterdam CSIO 5*, was fifth to appear in the arena in the 1,55 m-jumping competition against the clock. His grey gelding Incredible (Clinton x Heartbreaker) lived up to his name by soaring across the obstacles at an incredible pace guided by Coyle to remain in the clear. The combination set a time of 63.81 seconds, which proved too quick for the rest of the field.
France’s Kevin Staut (FRA) came in second with Vida Loca Z in a time of 65.05 seconds. There was also some cause for celebration for the home crowd: Dutchman Leopold van Asten (NED) and VDL Groep Nino du Roton was clean in a time of 65.60 seconds to complete the podium.
