Mâcon Chaintré, France – May 25, 2024 – Fifty-two pairs at the start, sixteen jump-offs, three double clear rounds… And at the end, Julien Épaillard (FRA) and Cancun Torel Z were still more than three seconds ahead of their pursuers! The best Frenchman in the world rankings signs a second victory this evening on the Mâcon Chaintré track, in the 1.50m event of the CSI 4*, in the colors of E.T.A. Serge Perraud. With a time of 39.52 seconds, the couple finished ahead of their compatriots Lara Tryba (FRA) and Die Hard of Roses Z (42”90) and the rider from Liechtenstein Jennifer Hochstaedter (LIE) associated with Tinka’s Hero Z (45”48).
Winner’s Circle – Julien Épaillard (FRA)
“Cancun has an incredible heart. She is really a great mare who always does everything for the rider. She doesn’t have a great action so the stride contracts are generally more forward for me, which is advantageous in a jump-off. I found the first round very interesting for a 1.50m event the day before the Grand Prix in which we often find less experienced horses. I am very satisfied with this start to the weekend!
Final Results – €30,300 E.T.A. Serge Perraud CSI 4*
