Mâcon Chaintré, France – May 24, 2024 – In the main event of this first day of competition at the Jumping International de Mâcon Chaintré CSI 4*, Julien Épailard (FRA) won, at the controls of Cancun Torel Z. On the 1.50m course designed by the French course designer Cédric Longis (FRA), the best tricolor in the international ranking (4th) was almost three seconds ahead of the British, Olympic team champion from London, Scott Brash (GBR), associated with Hello Vittoria.
Richard Breul (FRA) and Easy claimed third place in the ranking of this qualifying class for the Grand Prix de la Ville de Mâcon CSI 4* scheduled for Sunday.

“Cancun is a very generous mare and very comfortable in speed events at this level. She is very competitive! She is a mare with a lot of quality and heart. If I ride well, we are generally on the podiums of this competition format, which suits her perfectly.
I am also accompanied this week by Donatello d’Auge and Dubai du Cèdre. Donatello took part in a small class today and I found him in very good shape. He had benefited from a break after the CSI5* in Windsor. Seeing him fresh and happy to jump after these few weeks without hitting a bar made me very happy! He should therefore participate in the Grand Prix on Sunday. Dubai du Cèdre, for its part, will jump two small classes on Saturday and Sunday to stay in shape.
I came to Mâcon a long time ago and the site has changed a lot since then. The footing, the hard boxes, the parking, I find the facilities really great. It’s a great working tool to prepare our horses for big events, and this CSI 4* is already one of them! I’m delighted to be here!”
