Emily Turkington Thrives Amongst Fierce Competition in the Aloga Auction Grand Prix CSI 2* at Sentower Park

Sentower Park, Opglabbeek, Belgium โ€“ April 21, 2024 โ€“ Super Sunday at Sentower Park featured the battle between Great Britain and Ireland for the top position in the โ‚ฌ28,575 Aloga Auction Grand Prix CSI 2* and as many times before another Irish rider on the rise prevailed. This time it was Emily Turkington (IRL) who guided Cornet in flawless fashion to claim victory in the main class of the week there.

Going up against 9 other combinations, out of the original 59 entered in the first round of the 1.45m challenge, it was Turkington who thrived the most, securing the win aboard the 2014 grey Oldenburg gelding (Cornet’s Prinz x Clarimo) in 37.51 seconds.

Turkington’s feat was enhanced by the fact that she had overcome the number one young rider in the world, moreover the 13th best rider in the world, Harry Charles (GBR), who rode Bandit towards second place in 38.12 seconds.

Joรฃo Victor Castro (BRA) and Babacool also left all the poles up for no penalties too, securing bronze honors in 39.01 seconds.
