Emma Emanuelsson Puts the Right Pressure to Win the €106,100 Selleria Grand Prix CSI 4*

Arezzo, Italy – April 07, 2024 – The fourth week of the 2024 Toscana Tour came to an end on Sunday and it was Emma Emanuelsson (SWE) and Canbella Blue PS who stole the spotlight, claiming top honors in the grand finale, the €106,100 Selleria Grand Prix – Memorial Stephanie Searle CSI 4* at the Arezzo Equestrian Centre.

Serving as one of the qualifiers for both the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games and the 2025 European Championships, the first round course designed by Uliano Vezzani (ITA) was fair but quite demanding as it should have been, posing quite a challenge for 48 of the 50 combinations that entered the ring there. In the end, only two combinations managed to qualify for the jump-off: Emma Emanuelsson (SWE) on Canbella Blue PS and Philipp Weishaupt (GER) with Zineday.

Despite having the disadvantage of going first in the tiebreaker, the Swede and the 2014 black Hanoverian mare (Cantolar x Chacco-Blue) produced a foot-perfect performance in 41.62 seconds, putting a bit of pressure on the ensuing pair.

After having won the €57,400 Grand Prix CSI 3* last week with Coby 8, this time Philipp Weishaupt (GER) partnered with Zineday, in pursuit of back-to-back Grand Prix victories. The German started well but his attempt to be faster came at the expense of two poles down and four penalty-points, finishing silver honors.

The host nation was represented on the podium as Giulia Martinengo Marquet (ITA) and Delta del’Isle had the fastest time amongst the four-faulters in the first round, securing bronze honors in 76.30 seconds.
