Gothenburg, Sweden – February 23, 2024 – Swedish girl power was on display in Friday’s World Cup qualifier at the Gothenburg Horse Show CSI 5*-W. Petronella Andersson (SWE) from Höllviken in the very south of Sweden, based in Belgium with Stephex Stables, went out as the penultimate rider in the speed competition over 1,55-fences, the €56,980 Volkswagen Prize CSI 5*-W, clinching the victory with Odina van Klapscheut.

When Petronella entered the arena, the super-fast Julien Anquentin (FRA) and Blood Diamond du Pont were in the lead and Peder Fredricson (SWE) and Catch Me Not S in the runner-up position but the final placings would change one more time.

“It was a fantastic feeling, it went exactly as planned,” said Petronella Andersson immediately after the victory. My plan wasn’t really to ride fast since I’m competing in the World Cup on Sunday, but my horse is naturally quick.”

Petronella and Odina have had a great season, winning the Grand Prix in both Stockholm and Mechelen. “It’s great to have a good feeling going into Sunday, but now I need to focus,” said Petronella Andersson.
