Abu Dhabi, The United Arab Emirates – February 08, 2024 – Day one of the President’s of the United Arab Emirates Show Jumping Cup CSIO 5* got off to a flying start. Final honors of the day went to Richard Howley (IRL) riding Zodiak du Buisson Z, who took the Longines Grand Prix Qualifier CSIO 5*.

With speed and precision, Howley, the penultimate rider in this large jump-off class of 22 horses, knew what he needed to do to take the lead. He finished in 38.94 seconds, knocking over 1 second off Marlon Modolo Zanotelli‘s (BRA) time. Zanotelli, who had maintained poll position until the bitter end, taking second place for Brazil on Like A Diamond van het Schaeck.

Third place was claimed by Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) aboard Iliana, doing so in 40.39 seconds.

The show continues until Sunday 11 February, culminating with the Longines League of Nations™ qualifier at 13:30.
