Gronigen, The Netherlands – January 07, 2023 – The first week of the year could not have been better for Marriët Smit-Hoekstra (NED) as she rode away victoriously in the €28,200 Rabobank Grand Prix CSI 2*, the grand finale and feature class of the 60th edition of the IICH Groningen last Sunday.

Marriet mastered the course twice aboard Duco Z, a 2014 bay Zangersheide gelding (Dakar TN x Riverman-isf), defeating four other pairs by completing the jump-off in 32.29 seconds.

Brian Woldring-Walker (CAN) and Chaccoletto (Chacco Fly x Hesja) were the only foreign intruders amongst the 9 dutch combinations qualified in the top 10, giving the eventual winners a run for their money, finishing only six hundredths of a second behind their final mark.

Amanda Slagter (NED) and Cornet Blue PS (Chacco-Blue x Corstara) rounded out the top three in flawless fashion too, securing bronze honors in 32.72 seconds.
