Julien Anquetin Lapidates “His Diamond Horse” to Win the Grand Prix CSI 4* of Saint-Lô

Saint-Lô, France – October 29, 2023 –Julien Anquetin (FRA) has found a rare gem in Blood Diamond du Pont and the Frenchman and the and the development of their partnership has evolved into a winning one. This Sunday the pair triumphant before many of their countrymen in the €100,100 Grand Prix Département de La Manche CSI 4*, the hightlight of the Jumping International de Saint-Lô CSI 4* & CSI 2*.

The odds favored the host nation as seven of their representatives, out of 50 entries in the first round, managed to qualify for the tiebreaker. In the end, it was the Anquetin who pulled out all the aces up his sleeve aboard the 2011 bay Selle Français gelding (Diamant de Semilly x Arpege Pierreville), doing so in fault-free fashion before accelerating across the final timers in 38.51 seconds.

It was a one-two for “Les Bleus” as François-Xavier Boudant (FRA) guided Brazyl du Mezel (Haloubet de Gorze x Apache d’Adriers) towards second place in 40.80 seconds.

Despite his young age, competing amongst much more experienced riders, Harry Allen (IRL) showed why he is considered one of the best young talents in the noble sport. Harry flew high with Calculatus (Cachassini x Contello), conquering third place in 41.51 seconds.
