Spain Claim Nations Cup on Home Soil as Teresa Blázquez & Nasa de Toxandria Seal the Deal Against France!

Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – October 27, 2023 – Spain has won the Nations Cup once again here at the Andalucía October Tour III, in a very exciting jump off finish. In the first round the team finished on 4 penalty-points, but in the second they had three clears. This was exactly the same as the French team and put the two on equal points meaning a jump off would be the deciding factor.

With these two heading up the 8 that went through to the second round, the other placings were set with the United States of America in third place. Their team was headed by their Chef d’Equipe Anne Kursinski with riders,  Zayna Rizvi (USA) on Exquise du Pachis; Caitlyn Connors (USA) on Falcon de Hus Z; Hannah Selleck (USA) on Cloud 39 and Jacob Pope (USA) on Highway FBH making up the team and scoring 4 penalty-points in each round, finishing on a sum of 8 faults.

The rest of the results were: Belgium fourth, Ireland fifth and Great Britain sixth. The last two places were taken by Italy and Switzerland.

The French rider chosen for the jump off was Marie Demonte (FRA) and was first to go on  Epona du Quesnoy. They finished in a very good time but with one pole down.

Teresa Blázquez (ESP) & Nasa de Toxandria

She jumped a perfect clear round and the cheers that went up in the crowd could be heard across the show ground!  A really well deserved win for Spain and a very special home win for Teresa Blázquez.
