Simon Delestre Soars to Win the $1,000,000 Rikstoto Grand Prix CSI 5*-W

Oslo, Norway – October 14, 2023 – Simon Delestre (FRA) stole the spotlight on Saturday at the 2023 Agria Oslo Horse Show CSI 5*-W & CSI 2*, guiding Dexter Fontenis Z to victory in the main class of the day the NOK $1,000,000 Rikstoto Grand Prix CSI 5*-W.

The 1.60m jump-off contest featured 44 combinations representing Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. After the first round, only five riders had managed to advance to the tiebreaker, including famos names such as the eventual winner himself, Simon Delestre (FRA) joined by Pieter Devos (BEL) and world number one, Henrik von Eckermann (SWE), and these three would battle for the win.

In the end, it was the Frenchman who came out on top, guiding the 10-year-old black Zangersheide gelding (Diarado x Voltaire Pref) across the finish line in 34.24 seconds.

Pieter Devos (BEL) and Jarina J matched the clean scorecard of the winning pair, finishing in second place due to their fianl time of 35.05 seconds.

Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) and Calizi were almost two seconds slower than the winners but their jump-off time of 36.23 seconds was more than enough to secure them bronze honors.
