Wilm Vermeir Victorious Again Winning the $407,600 Grand Prix of Warsaw CSIO 4*

Warsaw, Poland – September 15, 2023 – Wilm Vermeir (BEL) has claimed victory at the Warsaw Jumping Grand Prix CSIO 4* – the international equestrian event being held at the Służewiec Racecourse until Sunday. The event combines show jumping along with races, hobby horse rivalry and para-dressage.

The most prominent competition on Friday at the Warsaw Jumping – the Grand Prix of 155 cm for the prize of Orlen, under the patronage of TVP Sport, boasting the prize pool of a total of PLN $407,600 featured 49 combinations in it. The course was designed by Gregory Bodo (FRA), the same one to in charge of the Paris Olympic show jumping course next year and he did not make it easy for the competitors. Only as few as six riders went forward to the jump-off, having delivered a clean round.

Time was then to determine the final ranking list. The fastest one to complete the course was Wilm Vermeir (BEL) , and that was another gorgeous Warsaw parkour for his performance. Let it not be forgotten that he was also the one to win the opening competition of this year’s Warsaw Jumping.

Poland is my country, I just have to come here more often. The jump-off itself was just perfect for me. – he joked while obviously cherishing the well-deserved victory.

Denmark’s Lars Bak Andersen (DEN) and his 11-year-old mare Ethene came right after. The podium was completed by Swiss Dominik Fuhrer partnered by the 12-year-old gelding Ghost.

I am a really lucky one. My horse jumped pretty well and I am so glad. The course was truly technical, which is probably why so many knock-downs have come about, but the riding was really smooth. The course designer definitely did the job. – commented the 2021 Swiss national champion.

The best Pole up the final ranking list was Michał Tyszko (Tuszyński KJ Garbówek), who came fifth on Colinero.
